GRANTS and AWARDS

New Mexico Arts Division (1984) - grant to compose and perform the music for a contemporary dancework entitled “Medicine Wheel”.

American Composers Alliance (1982) - unanimously elected to membership.

American Music Center (1979) - music copying grant to support the production of “Buffalo Nation” (then entitled “Winter”) at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

 

RADIO BROADCASTS

WNYC Newsounds with John Schaefer - (2003) “New Music with Ancient Texts” - featured an excerpt from “The Psalms of RA”, along with music of Phillip Glass, Michael Nyman, R. Murray Schafer, Abed Azrie, et al. Also (1988) featured live interview and airing of original vocal music recorded live inside the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt.

 

VPRO National Radio of the Netherlands “Der Wandelende Tak”- (2004) World Music program with Walter Slosse - an hour long special on “The Psalms of RA” featuring musical excerpts and interviews with the composer.
